Hey guys, I've had my fire sally for about 4 months now and I love the little guy. But as I was handling him today I noticed a red spot on his belly that I've never seen before. Now I'm worried it may be something serious. Does anyone know what is it and what could of caused it? Has anyone seen this before? Any info on how to go about treating this would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

Circled the area in question

What are the conditions its being kept in (temperature, substrate, moisture)?

Looks like an abrasion. Id sift through your substrate and see if there are any foriegn sharp objects that may have accidentally ended up in your enclosure.

Temps have been between 62-68, up until the last 2 weeks were the weather is getting warmer and now peaks around 71 in the day but I allow for a night drop of anywhere between 61-65. I have a mixture of Jungle Mix and Eco-Earth for substrate, with some mood and pillow moss in places, 5 live ferns and a live pothos. I keep the ground damp but not soggy. Humidity is at about 50%

Think it could be from one of the cork bark hides I have? He likes to wedge himself thru a small opening on the side of one of them

Sounds like an excellent setup. Given the ideal conditions the salamander has been living in, I wouldn't really worry about it unless you notice any abnormal behavior.
