So I have two juvenile axolotls, one 6 inch, one 5 inch, and up until yesterday I had a divider separating them. I had to remove the divider as it came to my attention one of my axolotls had hurt herself on it, hoping she will heal up alright, it doesn't look too bad.
It all went fine removing the divider, the axolotls have accepted each other's presence and swim onto each other but don't fight.
Anyway, so before I removed the divider I noticed my 6 inch slowly developing these pink/red dots on her body over a few weeks, I assumed it was just her colouration, as my 5 inch hadn't got any. That is until I removed the divider and overnight she developed tons of them.
Apart from this they seem happy and healthy as ever, eating plenty, just chilling, pooping a lot.
My parameters are:
0ppm ammonia
0ppm nitrite
0ppm nitrate
pH- 7.6
All tested the with API freshwater master test kit. I did cycle my tank properly before getting my axolotls.
And the temperature is always between 15-20°c
I'm just not sure what it is, if it's anything to worry about or not...
Ps. Her injuries have healed completely, but the spots are still there.
