i found a red eft and it is like 2in how do i get him 2 eat and what should i get wingless fruit flies it would not eat pieces of worm

Try live blackworms (preferably) or tubifex worms on moist towels. Any reputable fish store should carry these. Also, if you can find a place that carries pinhead or two week old crickets, they may also work.

You can probably also find crickets that are native to your area. I live in New York, so I can do the same. You can find them in grassy fields. Also, live wood lice are also acceptable food items for a red eft. These wood lice are better known as pill bugs or potato bugs.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
