Hi all.
Am after some reassurance, Woke up this morning to find bubbles laying eggs, she has now been at it all day.
I have taken a clump of weed out with about 20 - 30 eggs on and put them in a separate little tank ( it has a very very gentle air filter in, I know it's not strictly necessary but paranoid on water quality in my tanks)
I have ordered some bbs eggs and they will be here on Thursday so I can try a practice run.

I have left the rest of the eggs in the tank, presuming mum and pop will nom them ( willy they nom the eggs or will they wait to nom hatchlings :0/ )

Dad is 4ish and a wild type and mum is about 3 and and white (think albino as has pinky clear eyes). They have been together but with a divider for about 2 plus years and in this larger tank about 6 months or so. ( not divided now)

All the eggs are white is this normal? Will they hatch?

Keep reading all the advice, think I'm prepared like I say I'm after reassurance or telling me what I'm doing wrong.

Here's hoping for a reply. :0)

If you check out my links below you cant go wrong...

The eggs are all white because mom is albino. If dad is carrying albino genes, half of your offspring will be albino. Depending on what recessive genes they have, you could get a number of colors.

I'm glad you decided to raise only a few of the eggs. So many people I see on here want to raise 400 eggs at a time. I've done it; it's crazy.

Thank you for that, it answers one of my questions. And I don't think I would take on the task of trying to hatch hundreds of eggs. Well unless I had homes for them all first, and lots more experience in raising them.

:)

I have 238 little mouths to feed and rear, I just did not have the heart to destroy them as eggs, especially after the extreme effort she took to lay them all.
It will be a challenge but thats part of the excitement of having axolotls.

My first lot i reared was only 30 eggs and 16 survived so this time will be an experience.
