I noticed white worm looking things swimming in the water of my newt tank. They can't be more than 1/8" long. I have change the water every two weeks, not all of it about 30%, but can't get rid of them. I'm feeding them frozen bloodworms. Are these bloodworms that have come back to life? Every morning I clean nats out. Where are they coming from? How do I get rid of them?

I had this problem. The little worms are the gnat larvae. The gnats will lay eggs at the surface of the water. They're not harmful, just annoying. I have NO idea how to get rid of them. They disappeared when I moved. I even tried increasing surface movement, but to no avail.

Will the newts feed on the gnats? If they lay eggs will the larvae eat the gnats?

Gnat larvae are probably a bit small for adults to feed on, but that depends on the species of gnat and newt. Newt larvae will eat them, if they can catch 'em that is

. If they are not eaten you run the risk of filling your house with flies...
