So ive had this 25gallon tank for about a month now. It has always had about an inch of water in it for duckweed to grow.
I finally decided to set it up fill it and start the filter, get it all setup to start cycling i just hadnt decided what route to take. Its been about a week and i decided to "try" to cycle the tank with my axies this time.
Before i added them i decided to check the parameters. Ammonia .25 nitrite .5 and nitrate 5 ph 7.0
I dont understand
Why does it seem like its been cycling with nothing alive in there?
I did a wAter change and added them in. Today ammonia is the same and nitrite 0 and nitrate around 10
Last night i also added a sponge filter that was in a cycled tank and also a hidefrom it as well
Can somebody just explain this to me please
