Hey i have two Paramesotriton chinensis and they are now in a fully aqaric tank and i was wondering if a plecostomus would be ok to put in with them to help eat the algae?
thanks

All you have to do is use the search function on this site...a lot of people have inquired about housing plecos and many other fish with their newts and amphibians.

The quick answer is no, they would not be ok.

Indeed, plecostomus are a very bad match for newts. Check out the fish article on Caudata Culture for more details.

Snails are a better choice for algae control. I prefer pond and ramshorn snails; they are low-maintenance, newts can eat the young, and they cannot pinch newts as operculate snails can.
