hey just wondering if it's okay to keep 1 newt in a 5 gallon aquarium? Im planing later on to update
his/her home into a 10 gallon tank...

Is this alright?

If the newt is small (like a C. orientalis) and if you are extra careful about water quality, it should be fine. I have kept individual newts in a 5-gallon tank. Take care not to leave any uneaten food in there. A small volume of water fouls easily.

No need to worry about the small amount of water i clean my tanks almost every day....,

Thanks by the way... .any other comments?

I kept 2 firebellys in a 5 1/2 gallon for a month quarantine and they did fine. I had a filter and all. The water was always super clean.

I kept and bred N. v. viridescens in a 5.5 gallon. A group of 4 I believe. Like Jen said, watch the water quality.
