I have a juvenile tiger salamander about 5 or 6 inches long, how much bigger is she going to get, and how quick do they grow? Please comment!

And if you want to view her check my profile pic. Thanks!

They can get as big as 12 inches. My biggest female is 10 inches (pictures on my profile). I'm not sure how long it takes for them to get that big. Your two sals look pretty good !!!

Is the bigger one for sure a blotched?

It's a bit hard to tell from the picture, it looks more like an eastern to me.

They can take a few years to reach "full" size. However, given the distinct possibility of them living around 20 years in captivity with proper care, they can continue to grow ever so slightly, much like axolotls.

Recently, I was e-mailed a photograph of a wild tiger here in Nebraska that was very nearly 14 inches SVL!!!

On that note, the size difference between the two specimens could become an issue...the larger may try for an easy snack.

I have a barred tiger that morphed out at only 4.5 inches and it has only grown about an inch in the past 8 months. I have a picture of her in my profile. If your salamanders were bought together you probally have somekind of mavortium intergrade. But Eastern tigers are so variable in color and pattern it is hard to say unless you know the local from where it was collected.
http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2009/07/biologists_say_endangered_nj_s.html Check out this male picture and article. Eastern Tiger are spotted something like this most of the time but sometimes they look alot like blothched. But I think the wide range in colors and patterns is what makes them so great.

You might enjoy browsing the forum and its photo gallery; I'm sure there are some photos around here somewhere of 13-14 inch Tigers.
