Bit of a strange question here but does anyone know if I would be able to keep "Paratya curvirostris" or "NZ glass/ghost shrimp" with axolotls 🦞?

i'm not sure... i'd think the only downside would be the shrimp (a) pinching the axie (b) their waste building up, (c) causing obstructions (if) the axies try to eat them.

I have no doubt the shrimp would be eaten although there is no reason to believe they would cause an obstruction.

i'm assuming they might be a bit large, i orderd some once and they were much bigger than i bargained for :Sad face:

Yehhh. I'm pretty sure I saw a post about some guy who had the austalian version of this shrimp with there lotls and i think they said that it went well. As for c, i think that axies can pass through normal ghost shrimp which i think are pretty similar to the nz variety.

shrimp are good as part of the tanks clean up crew but don't tend to last long as they make a snack for axolotls, they can also be used as part of a live food diet.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
