Can anyone tell me how wet the paper towel should be when shipping Axolotl eggs by the cd case method?

It should be wet enough that if you squeeze it in your hand, the water will drip out of it. Make sure it isn't too wet to where it will drip from inside of the cd case, sometimes packages that spring leaks get delayed. One girl has sent me eggs a couple times, she's put the cd case inside of bags for extra safety.

What's th c.d. method? What is the advantage of it?

For axolotl eggs, I think you'd be better off shipping them in a bottle of water. Yes, the postage will cost more, but axie eggs have a thick sticky coating that will adhere to the towels. If you do use paper towels, they should be very wet to minimize sticking. then wrap the CD in a ziploc bag so it doesn't leak.

If you do send them in a cd case make sure to let the person receiving them knows that they'll need to very carefully remove them from the paper towel. You can also simply send them in a fishbag with another bag to put the one with the eggs into, just in case it the first leaks.

It's when you ship eggs on a damp paper towel placed in an empty compact disc case.

The advantage is the shipping cost is lower than sending them in water. I get nervous about removing eggs from the paper towel though, it always feels like I'm going to crush them.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
