Question about PH

We have our tank set up and did our first test of the water with the API kit the results are:
Nitrate and nitrite both zero. Ammonia 0.25 PH 7.4. Temperature is 70 degrees. What is a safe PH for Axolotl? Is it normal to have ammonia in a new tank with no axolotl in it?

Do you understand cycling? You really need to read up on the nitrogen cycle in a tank, and learn how to get set up properly.
BTW axies are quite tolerant in terms on pH, anything between 7 and 8 is fine, but with ammonia present and nitrates of 0 your tank is not ready for axies yet.
