My albino is laying eggs. I noticed earlier that her cloaca was swollen, I though maybe she was constipated. But she'd laying :D.

You may have heard me refer to her as a piggylotl - and if her size is due to eggs she is going to lay several thousand!

So let me just run this by you:
My male (wildtype) had 1/4 albinos in his last clutch with a wild type female. This means he must carry a recessive albino gene - I believe he is D/- M/M A/a LX/-. If he's now mated with an albino the offspring must be about 50% albinos - yes?

Ugh! Something I don't want again for a longggggg time. Lol

Congrats to you tho Jude! Will be exciting to watch them develop. :)

Their genetics and colouring is way over my head auntiejude, but congratulations on the arrival of your new eggs.....will be interesting to see if your right about the huge amount laid and hope the babies are successful survivors.

I hope I get some results from these ones, the last batch all failed to develop. Bt these are with a different mm to the last ones.

Will keep you all posted...

Well it seems Pinky really isn't that fussed about where she puts her eggs. She has deposited little groups of eggs on the filter inlet, the airline tubing, the plants, the ornaments, the floor and event the airstone! I swear she tried to lay some on Freckles' tail when Freckles just sat there for too long. And she was still going when I left for work.

Now it looks like its been snowing!
