I am thinking about getting a axolotl at the next fire expo and i have a few questions. First of all i am getting three so I am planning to get a thirty gallon tank. Should I get it long or wide, or what is the best fit. Also for the filter I was thinking about the Repti Clear F250 Terrarium Filter. Is this a good filter choice?

i honestly don't think a 30 is going to be big enough for 3. I have a 40 breeder, and I'm already thinking I'm going to have to upgrade with 2. I would at least think about getting a 40 breeder, if not something bigger for 3 axoltols. I couldn't find the gph on that filter, but it looks like a canister filter, so as long as you disperse the current it should be fine.

Here is a link for the filter Repti Clear F250 Terrarium Filter . Since you cant find that filter what is recommended. I know everyone answers just a filter that will clean but I want a specific brand on what works good. Also how much is a 40 gallon breeder. Thanks for your help

I've never used that brand, so honestly I'm not sure how good it is. I personally use a marineland c220 on my 40 breeder, but it's got more flow than I'd like. I see that filter has 71 gph, which is pretty low. Honestly I'm not sure what to make of it, I'm sure it will work for your tank, as axolotls do not like flow. I've never personally used that kind of filter, but it's geared towards turtles, who I'm assuming also do not like flow, so I guess it works fine? I'd do some research into reviews before buying anything. I bought my 40 breeder for $50 on craigslist.
