Pretty blue-gill leucy

This is my little female blue-gill, Snake. She is still growing, and her gills are still coloring up. I'm still trying to figure out how to take pictures that do her justice.

Blue gill?? I have never heard of that. It's so pretty!!!

I am not sure why it is called "blue" gill, when the marking on the gill stalks are black (or at least look that way to me). I also don't know anything about the genetics behind it. But I do love the look.
