that is a very nice home. simple and elegant. besides the algae balls, what other live plants are you using(i see java fern??)

very lovely axolotl house.

I have no idea what the plants are. I purchased about 70 live plants from eBay and just chose the very best. I threw the majority away, but these have lasted pretty well.

Thank you for your kind comments!

Hey Mark,
What a beautiful tank setup. It looks really peaceful. And lovely axie, he/she is very lucky

Wow NICE.
Keep an eye on the Opiophogon Japonicus (fountain plant) near the filter - they tend to rot in the middle and die very quicky, as they're actually a bog plant.

Nice use of the Ortheoceras fossils.
They're well supported at the bottom aren't they?
If Powder takes a mad dash and it comes over, they're very heavy.

Chemically nice and stable however, but be careful about what fossils you put in your tanks, some leach copper and such.
However, because most Orthos come from Kenya, and are about 140MILLION years old at LEAST, they're nice and impacted, like smooth granite, and unlikely to release chemicals.

Wow amber, an axie expert & a fossil expert. Thanks for the comments and the tips.

*laughs*
Thanks.

I love my 'lotls, and gemmery has been in my family for generations.
My uncle is still an avid fossil collector, and my grandmother used to be a gem/diamond cutter.

I'm compiling a list of stones safe to use in fishtanks/aquaria soon too, and I'll add it onto my axolotl page when I'm done.
You want me to email you the link when finished?
(Or alternatively, you can find it on the Axolotl Toys page here)
