Hi there

My axolotl laid about 100 eggs on 2nd february. My friend is wanting 2. I am not sure how many to post to her to ensure it survives as I know a lot do die off.. Also, what's the best meathod to post ie courier?

I was thinking I'd post Monday latest, but as soon as someone replies I can get posting to ensure they don't hatch in transit.

Thanks guys xx

Are they bean- shaped now? Get them shipped ASAP, if they were laid on 2nd they should be due to hatch any time from 14th onwards. I would send your friend 5 eggs, any extra can be given away or brought on and sold.

You can either ship them wrapped in wet kitchen towel in a CD case or in a small plastic container full to the brim. I personally use urine specimen pots (!) wrapped up in bubble wrap in a box. I use next day delivery too, you never know what condition RM will store them in if it takes too long.

Hello. I just noticed two notches, white small bubbles on the hind legs of one of my male newts.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
