ONe of my C.O juvies suddenly developed something...odd.

First thing I noticed, is that there's something wrong with his eyes. They're cloudy (I dont know if they're naturally like that, or if there's something, like dirt caked on his eyes. I tried putting him in water to wash it off, but nothing happened.) And they blend in to his skin color, making it almost look like as if his eyes are always closed. He's not responding to wriggling worms when I try to feed him, not any other kind of bug. Which worries me.

There's also this "white sheen" I would call it, on top of his head.

I dont know what's really causing this, if its just dirt caked on, or something more.

Ok, I just wiped his eyes (very carefully) with wet paper towel, and it was just dirt caked on there, but the white sheen still worries me...

Well there was another thread about a newt with cloudy eyes but as far as the other 'sypmtom' i dont know , plus i dont know much about newts . Good luck with your newt .

hey
i dont mean to sound pessimistic but i had two cynops orientalis, but now i have only one. the reason one died is because it got cloudy eyes. i tried to see whether it was skin but i couldn't remove it, the problem with cloudy eyes is that they stop eating, no matter what i tried to feed it it just wouldn't until it died i even tried to force feed it but it was stressing him out too much. the other thing might be the it's not shedding properly due to stress. try to feed it that's the most important thing although i wasnt successful maybe you will good luck with it. as for the food you can try chopping earth worms, frozen or live blood worms or blood worms. i hope this advice is helpful b
