Evening all,
Getting worried about our pair of axos. Xena (albino) has had this weird discolouring on her tail for a couple of days and now I have just noticed that it appears part of the tip of her tail is being eaten away. Midnight (you can guess) now has some white blotches appearing on both of his sides near the back.
They are only two and a half years old and my daughter loves them.
They are currently in a 40G tank, 65-68F, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites and < 5ppm nitrates. Weekly water changes, and I have recently stepped that up.
Recently there has been a thick clear slime growing on everything in the tank and clouding the water. After doing a thorough cleaning of the tank, the slime is back within a couple of days.
I am going to place them in a different tank that I have that I have just started, and sterilize the old one.
Would it be a proper time to try a Black Tea bath or a salt bath? Does anyone have some good links for them.
Please help. Thanks.
