I walked into my apartment tonight to be surprised by my female cynops orientalis with her her back legs wrapped around a piece of foliage, and her nose straight up in the air. I got really excited and went to the tank to take a closer look but in all my excitement I scared her and she swam off. Was this just a fluke, or is there a chance that she may be ready to lay some eggs?
She had been ill a few months ago and I had her in the fridge to help her pull through. I took her out about a month ago and had been feeding her quite heavily. I put her in the tank (a spiffy 40 gallon
) about a week ago with my male. I never saw any mating dancing, but I did notice that the male was ready. Any advice would be appreciated.
