I'm curious how many different lines their are in the states? I'm going to guess original imports were brought in prior to their listing as Cites II animals?

I have now a group of 4 from Jennifer's stock...which due to her generosity is most definetly the dominant bloodline.

I think there's a serious problem with "bloodlines" for virtually every species of caudate in captivity in the US. Until we have a larger number of people breeding (and either swapping or selling), the diversity of bloodlines is going to be insufficient. This hobby has not reached the "critical mass" of breeders that we need to really sustain any species in captivity with a sufficient number of bloodlines.

I'm sure there are some C. e. popei in the US that aren't related to mine, but if they aren't being bred and sold/traded, then they can't be considered to be bloodlines.
