Illness/Sickness: Poorly newt

I took my newt to the vets today; he was suprised to see that it had a massive swelling coming out of his mouth! have you seen anything like this before? left newty at the vets for a couple of days to see if he can help it.

Im So sorry to hear, poor newt.:cry:
You can always buy another from most pet stores or garden centres with a pet section or breeders althoguh breeders aint as easy to find though
 
Your best bet would be to find a local breeder, or to check out the 'For Sale' ads on this website. Unfortunately, many newts bought at pet shops are in poor condition due to lengthy importations and pet store negligence.
 
Sorry to hear the newt died.
Please try to find a captive bred newt this time. Most pet shop newts are caught in the wild and transported in terrible conditions. Many die and the surviving ones are often poorly. They are usually kept in unsuitable conditions in pet shops. By buying these newts, people make the business profitable.

The problem with captive bred newts is that they are sold as juveniles and caring after them is a little bit more tricky. It is very rewarding to raise your own newt, though.
