im building a new tank for my axie family an i was thinking of using pond earth or clay instead of sand.
it must be a lot easier to clean as it it wont be sucked up and the plants wouldt have a more solid foundation, but what do you think couldt it be dangerous for my babies??

I think maybe something is getting lost in translation. What is "pond earth"? Is it a product you buy, or do you mean, literally, dirt from a pond?

it is earth you buy in sacks to put in the bottom of your garden pond

I think I know what you mean. We call it "fuller's earth". It is sold in bags as an aquatic plant medium. The problem is that the pieces are a size that axolotls could eat, and get stuck in their digestive tract. Same problem as aquarium gravel.

Is this what you mean?
