Well, I followed your advice, I took these pictures during the light of day, the problem is, most of my warty newts and my axolotls don't like the sun, so the only newts I could easily take pictures of were my pleuros, here are the results.

Here are some pics of them begging for food

Aren't they adorable! I love the little one blowing the spit bubble. When I do that, no one takes a picture.

Thanks for all your compliments. Here are three consecutive shots:

The last three pics remind me of some sea monster movie when they look out the submarine's window and see the defeated monster swimming off into the abyss.

Love your pictures! They are very cute swimming around. Oddly enough I have to agree with Ryan when you scroll down the last three pics. Still nice though. Please keep posting them.

Congratulations on professional photos, reflecting a carefully kept set-up and very healthy specimens.

The reason it looks like its from some sea monster movie is because the light's a marine light, giving everything a blue tinge. Here are some pics from yesterday:

Here are some newts guffing (releasing excess air in order to decrease their buoyancy after surfacing):

I have to agree with the others - very nice pics. How many animals are in this tank, and what size tank is it? I have never heard the term "guffing" before, though I have seen some of my own newts releasing air bubbles like that.

This is my last round of Pleuro pics for a while (my computer's running out of memory).

Here's another guffing pic

Excellent pictures! You seem to have great timing(the guffing, shedding& licking its lips).Very impressive. Absolutely love the second one down where (s)he looks like it is holding onto the plant "just hanging around" as you put it.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
