Meet Hannibal, one of 8 larves I have. He's now 6cm. Two others are just as big, the smallest is 4.5cm; the rest somewhere in between.
Sorry I can't take great pictures, but I'm sure these will do for now.

tnx John, maybe I'll clean the front of the tank first next time ;)

And you're right Ruben, even with a tummie close to exploding they will be willing to eat some more indeed.

Yes . You know? I have seen , two years ago in a lake a Pleurodeles waltl adult trying to eat , out of the water , a great common frog dead !!!
There are Pleurodeles very bigs in my region , amazing...

Is easy to find in my region Pleurodeles waltl of 30 cm . Is one of the most north places in the distribution of Pleurodeles .

Here you have a picture of the mother and 3 of the possible fathers

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
