What species is it? Is it this:

What is the tank setup like? What kinds of food has he been eating previously? And what foods have you tried in the past 2 weeks? Is he otherwise acting and looking normal?

Ok Jennewt's questions are valid.
When I got a newt (CFB) one didn't eat for a month; he lost so much weight as you can imagine - I was recommended to try one food for a week and not offer any other food until they eat it. However I was trying blood worms and he didn't eat or show interest - so I switched to brine shrimp and OMG he was almost crawling in the little tub I keep the food to eat it. So now I'm sticking to brine shrimp and blood worms - next step I'll be introducing a new food to them to keep them going
