I'm planning on using richgro kids play sand from bunnings and was wondering does this sand alter the PH in anyway?

I haven't used that particular brand of play sand, and I don't keep axolotls, but I will say that many years ago I tried using play sand (from lowes I think) and it was extremely dirty. The amount of rinsing, and rinsing, and rinsing, that I had to do was NOT worth the amount of money I saved, now I just buy aquarium sand, the play sand was just waayyyyy too dirty. Just my experience though, I'll never use play sand again. Just be prepared to rinse it many many times if you use play sand.

Yeah I just went and got some ph neutral aquarium sand, was just reading that that type of sand was rising the PH of peoples tanks to over 8. Also read that you have to clean and clean and clean and when your done clean some more and then after when your done clean it again, not a fan of cleaning lol

Yes! My only time I tried to use it I cleaned it and cleaned it and cleaned it and then when I thought it was clean I added it to my tank, and as soon as I started filling the tank with water I realized it was no where near clean! I'm glad you avoided all of that work!
