Hi,

i will soon be getting an axolotl and was wondering what would be the best plants to put in the tank, also where to get non toxic black sand at.

There's a stickied post at the top of the forums about the best type of plants for axolotl tanks as well as a few other posts right now about that, so poking through those would probably be your best bet.

As far as black sand, CaribSea makes a black sand (Tahitian Moon, I believe is the name of the color) that's non-toxic, but the grains are a little bit large and coarse so just pay attention to that if you decide to get it. You can buy it at almost any pet store.
