Can anyone recommend the right kind of plant for an axie? I currently have a 10gallon tank that I'm setting up for them.

There are lots of threads on this. Pretty much any low-light, cold water plant will be fine.

My favorite are silk plants. Perennially green, not easily destroyed.

Do you plan on keeping more than one axolotl? A 10 gallon tank won't be big enough for more than one.

My anubias is quite tollerant and grows quite well in low light.

Get some anacharis, java moss, duckweed, anubias and naja grass

Oxygen Weed has done really well in my tank.
I put another plant in two weeks ago, I can't remember it's name (it's genus name starts with an 'A' though) and my axies have destroyed it

I have Java Moss, Vallis and also floating Salvinia :)
These plants are doing well in my tank :D

I've tried fully planted aquatic plants but I've found that plants attached to driftwood, branches & rocks works really well as they're elevated & easy to move to make sure underneath is clean. You can even find them weird shapes with nooks that make great hides :)

The plants I've found great success with are java fern, anubias (large & small leaf varieties) lileaopsis, java moss & any fern like looking plant, I'm about to add large marimo balls to the mix.

I would avoid sharper grasses (think paper cuts 0.0)
