I have a Water Wisteria, a Giant Hygrophila, and an Anubias Congensis. They all look a little yellow. They're a greenish-yellow color. The Giant Hygrophila has black leaf tips, because It was in the bag from the pet shop too long. The blackness is extending down toward the stems. The Wisteria looks like it's coming back. The tops of the stems are bright green and healthy, but the rest looks yellow. It grows fast though.

They're in a bare-bottomed tank in pots they were in at the pet shop. Water is quality is decent, with an algae infestation. The water is VERY cold. (the tank will have an Axolotl inside it within a week). As for light, I have two flourscent bulbs that are on 24/7.

What's going on with my plants?

there could be many factors, but 24/7 light is one of the main suspects. This is not good for plants, it's unnatutral and they'll need a rest period at night during which they can assimilate. That would also explain the algae infestation. I would turn the lights off at night.

The low temp may also be a problem - these are not cold water species. You might try Elodea, hornwort or other cold water plants instead. How cold is the water?

other factors could be lack of nutrients, or depleted CO2 from the constant lights.

I would switch it to 18-6 if your going for growth or even a 6-6-6-6 cycles to get the fastest growth

Depending on the size of tank and wattage of your bulbs you may be in trouble with the Anubis

Do you have at least a air pump bubbling in the tank?

They may also be root bound in the pots.

and if your trying to cycle the tank your done.

Plants will use the ammonia before they do the nitrites or nitrates.

Plants like the easiest thing that they can get for food.

And everything gets reversely broken down by the plant into ammonia as the final element to be used as food. The plants do this internally.

Once you add your axies you will see more growth from them since there will be a constant ammonia source for them to feed off of.

I have a good filter in there. I am not sure how cold the water is, but whenever I take my hand out it's purple
