I am having difficulty finding micro foods for my FBN nymphs. I rang my local aquarist who doesn't have any Daphnia in til next week, but does have frozen brine shrimp (he says to agitate the water slightly to encourage the babies to eat) and some plankton.

Is Plankton ok for nymphs??

If they have just hatched I would try hatching brine shrimp eggs. This is always good food for the first week or two. Micro worms would be good also I have used both of these in the past. I did find the micro worms on Ebay. They are easy to culture in oatmeal with a pinch of yeast. And a very good first food. I don't know how cold it is there but I would also go to a pond with a brine shrimp net and run it through the water along the shore and see if I could find any micro foods there. Bring a glass jar so you can look into it to see what you are catching.

Thanks Bill. I had a delivery of brine shrimp today but unfortunately it had a hole in the bag & the majority had drained away.

I'm not having luck with microworms either. I bought a culture from an online store over a week ago, but it hasn't come to anything.

Anyway today, I found some more on Ebay which I have ordered - should be here in a couple of days. I hope I have more luck with that.

In the meantime I will go to my local aquarist & get a bag of daphnia.
