Picky Eater Tiger Salamander

Hi everyone! I have a tiger salamander who currently will only eat mealworms. I realize this is not the healthiest to be all that he is eating so I am looking for food suggestions. I tried today to feed him some earthworms and red wrigglers but he would not eat them. The smaller ones he wouldn't even touch and the larger one managed to make it into his mouth before he spit it out and wouldn't let the next one get close to him. He doesn't even eat crickets anymore. Any ideas? :happy:

How frequently are you feeding? A healthy tiger salamander can go for up to several weeks without eating, so if you need to let the animal fast for a time to let it get hungry, then do so

Totally agree with Heather on this one. Well fed animals become very picky. Provided your tiger doesn't lose condition, I'd hold back on feeding for a few days. Mind you, some of those red wriggler worms I can't stand the smell of myself.
