Hey guys,
I'm a Technical Communication minor at Shepherd University and in one of my classes we're working on a big web project of our own. When asked to choose a topic, what else could I say other than aquatic newts! I've become very interested in the hobby and I'd love to share some things I've learned online.

The main problem with this is that Caudata Culture has mainly done it all! (Great job guys!) I think I'm going to mainly focus on building a habitat for them, but I'd also like to include some other information.

Can I obtain permission to link to this site? I'd love to refer my users not only to the forum but also your awesome information on captive care.

Also (and I would of course give credit) but if anyone has any photos that they would allow me to put up (as I don't have access to a digital camera) that would be awesome.

Thanks in advance for your help, and let me know if I should e-mail one of you directly regarding this.

If you go to the Moderators list (top right of nav. bar) - you can send a private message to the moderators to ask.

Hope this helps.

You need to get John Clare's permission. I would suggest sending him the query.

I think there is no problem with simply linking to this site - no permission is required for that. For any photos or text you would like to use, you need to directly ask the writer/photographer. If you need contact addresses for the photographers of specific photos on CC, I may be able to help you.

Thanks for your help Jennifer (I still haven't gotten around to double checking with John yet, but I will before I do anything just to be safe.)

I was hoping that some people on the site might offer for me to use their photos (with given credit, of course). I think my professor wants me to pick a more specific topic, so I think it's going to be mainly on building a habitat, but I'd like to like to here since there's so much good information to be had.

If anyone would give me permission to use photos of tanks they've created, that would be great.

I'm choosing to focus on this because I feel like I could make things (on this very specific topic) more clear for people who have never had newts before.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
