Hey, I have not seen it on this forum but on one of my other forums:www.wireptiles.com/forums, when I asked for help people just downed me, accused me of abusing my animals, called me hard-headed because I couldnt afford the best possible cage at the time, and were just down-right insensitive. If someone seeks help on this forum, dont diss them. Not saying it happens here, but please be kind.

Hello AJ,
I am not real sure of the intent of this thread other than perhaps to just blow off some steam. There is certainly no reason for anyone to ever be rude on a public forum however it is important to realize that a certain amount of personal responsibility should be in order. For example, most beginner questions on pretty much any subject can often be answered by researching first. It is so frustrating to read and answer newbie questions only to see the same question posted by someone else soon afterwards. In addition, it is also irritating when authoritative advice is given and the poster continues to ignore this advice, often at the expense of the animal(s) in question. In extreme cases this situation could well be classified as abuse. Yet another situation that is irritating is when the poster continues to repeat the same question throughout the thread. I briefly glanced at the website that you mentioned and there seems to be quite a bit of knowledge there. Remember, we are not always going to be given the answers that we want to hear.

I haven't seen your posts on the other forum, AJ, but I can understand where the people were coming from. On this forum we use a lot of self-restraint because we realize that if we are rude, people will just turn away (as you did from this other forum). But you should try to understand that the people who were rude to you were probably trying to do what was best for the animals. As an "advice-giver" it's very easy to get frustrated and try to make a point by yelling at the person. You should try to look past the "yelling" and take their advice seriously.

I would also say... if someone obtains an animal and cannot afford to get the proper housing for it, this is abuse of the animal.
