I would not count on it, so far as I know, P. guangxiensis has never been exported out of China (but maybe last year from Vietnam?). This is probably a P. fuzhongensis, judging by the body shape.
Certainly no P. caudopunctatus or P. chinensis. I'm also leaving the possibility of P. hongkongensis open for the moment...

But still, a quite strange animal...

i would go for p. hongkongensis it looks the same as some big old ones i have.

I've got a new picture of him/her now.. on his/hers belly:

Yeah I'm starting to lean at that direction too.. by the way his natural colour is that darker brown that you see on the pictures, when he/she is lighter just depends on the flash.

Does anyone know if it's a female or a male? :S

okay.. funny because I've had her for like two years without knowing the gender ;D haha

I just have too send this picture :p she looks so funny^^ It feels great to know that she is a female, cause now I don't have to write "he/she" all the time ;)

I would also guess P. hongkongensis, and female. Just a guess, though.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
