So my little melanoid and leucistic surprised me with a batch of eggs this week. I'm panicking a little because I've only had my little ones since February and they are my first axolotls and I never dreamed of having babies this soon. The eggs are already at the crescent stage of egg development and I cannot find anything to feed them. I've heard that I can do daphnia or brien shrimp but I cannot find anyone locally to provide live specimens and everywhere I've seen to order want so much money for them.
I could really use some advice, especially on where I can obtain food before they hatch.
Thanks,
extremely panicked axie mom

Decapsulated Hatchable brine shrimp eggs 4 oz.

I believe this is what Willowcat told me of, he's says they're very easy to manage. I know you said a lot of the things are really expensive but if even these are a bit much you may want to consider culling eggs as babies are time consuming and sometimes expensive if you feed live foods.

Yes, definately cull the eggs down to whatever number you want to keep. How old are the eggs? Less than 4-5 days you can freeze them, older than that and you'll need to anaesthetise them by soaking in clove oil solution before freezing. I'd suggest keeping a dozen or so.

You really need to hatch your own brineshrimp. there is a tutorial here. I have been using decaspsulated brineshrimp eggs - easy and quick to hatch. And they only need them for about 2-3 weeks, until they are big enough for daphnia, bloodworms, microworms etc.
And you have time to set up a culture for daphnia or microworms etc.

Yes it's expensive, but worthwhile.

If you have any eggs you dont want and are willing to ship please message me! I would really rather you didnt freeze them aspecially because iknow i have time and space for them. :( thanks.
