So I bought my first ever newt on July 13th while they were transitioning to terrestrial, and I put them in a large bin with lots of hiding space, humidity, little bit of water and stuff to climb on like wood. Then I tried feeding them, didn’t take it, posted on reddit and got the same advice over and over again. Basically what I do is grab a live fruit fly or blood worm with some tweezers, put the wriggling fly close and wait for a bite. I get nothing every time, keep in mind I do this at night with the lights turned off sometimes using my flash to see. They aren’t malnourished skinny right now but have clearly lost weight. I guess one of the factors could be that it’s too warm but, it’s not hot nor freezing. Around 65 degrees water and air.

If not trained to it most newts won't tong feed. Couple that with the newt being terrestrial and I am not surprised you are not seeing any feeding. Try chopped earth worms in a small dish and leave them alone.
