sorry for the poor picture quality but the side of the tank has a slight growth of algae and i didn't want to disturb her by cleaning it.

Congratulations Ian! That's great news. (the newt eggs, and the gecko)

Congrats, Ian! So yours lay eggs on plants? The photos from Erik K. showed his paddletail eggs attached to a clay pot, so I thought they might be newts that lay on rocks.

They are laid on a lump of driftwood jen its just the poor quality of the picture, i'll try to gently clean the glass and get a better shot.

Ian, thats great news! Can you tell us what conditions your animals are housed in? I like to learn the specifics:)

they are in a three foot tank, five in all, two males. I have a filter which keeps the water moving, gravel bottom and drift wood and pots for hiding places, although she has laid eggs on driftwood both times now. I tend to disturb them as little as possible just the odd water top up. I leave them in the garage all winter and the temps get pretty low down to around 2 degrees, as soon as the temps rise slightly the dominant male courts the females, the other two females are now in the pots but i cant see if the have eggs.

I know this is an old thread but I was wondering what paddletail morphs looked like and if they were terrestrial or not. Do you have pics of the larvae and morphs?

Ah! How do people get paddle tails to breed? Mine wont. Oh well congrats anyhow! :)
