Pachytriton labiatus and green-brown algae

Who can confirm or refute the assertion that the aquarium with Pachytriton labiatus is covering by coating of green-brown algae in a lesser degree that aquariums with other aquatic newts under conditions of the equal lighting?

you know it's funny you should mention that, but my tank has had a very similar algae, whilst the next door tank has none...

I was about to post this same question on a new thread but then spotted this one. I've never kept pachys until someone dumped two juvies on me and their tank grows a healthy new coat of algea every couple of days despite my persistent cleanings and water changes. I even started cramming live plants in there but it still comes back. Any ideas why?
