Who else keeps them now? How are they doing? What are they being fed? Any breeding behavior seen?

Anybody have any literature on this species? (most of what I have already is in Chinese language).

I've had the same pair for over 2 years now (I'm guessing), but no signs of breeding. The biggest of the two is about 20 cm long (it's very impressive!). They've always gotten along fine, no signs of fighting at all. They each have their own shelter and feed almost exclusively on fortified bloodworm (though I've just recommitted myself to varying their diet!).

I have several pairs. I'll try to get some pics of them posted soon. My males are just developing tail spots so we must be approaching the breeding season (at least for US animals. The fighting has just begun also

so soon I'll have to pull some males from the tank. Mine are all housed together in one large tank. Each individual animal has a 'den' which it uses exclusively.

I remember seeing females with visible eggs through the abdomen this spring so maybe the breeding season extends from fall/winter through spring?

Georgeous animals that I have never seen imported here in Belgium... I was just informed an import had reached the UK...

funny thing is, its not my males that fight, since these are known to be more docile than the labiatum-one would figure that a 1.2 ratio would work fine, but when i put a new female in with my pair-the new girl kept attacking (lightly but persistantly) the male, she was taking small chunks out of his tail in the end (i thought they would work it out) and never went after the other established female in the tank. i have gotten sperm deposition before but no results, i am moving them soon-so maybe a new tank may trigger something....
