Ok, I thought i could post this here and i would get more responces...or more views...How long does it take for these to hatch...When they do what are possible foods for newly hatched larvae...

Jen, the eggs are about 5 mm...for a size reference i took them little yellow bbs from a air soft handgun of my grandpas...they are about the same size...a little tiny bit smaller...and they bbs are 6 mm...So i was a little off...that is what living underworld said for size too.

Hey all, these are really bad pictures of my p.labiatus eggs. I just thought i would show some idea of what they look like...I really cant run a digital camera...Even though the pics of their parents look great..

Congrats Hayden! Read up on the camera manual, please please please. We could all really use some nice shots of the eggs and larvae as they develop because no one has really seen that here in the US.

I gave the camera back Nate...Maybe Jen can get some good pics...

I might get the camera back tomorrow...I figured out macro mode on it but i ran outta batteries...So i got zero photos taken with it...It is the little flower thing right? the bbok didnt say how to turn flash off so all of em but these to have so much glare...

Yeah...the flower- For flash, press it up against the glass-that will minimize the glare. You can than move the eggs into the focus range of the camera and shoot.

Joseph, the only thing is you cant see the eggs from the glass of the kricket keeper.

hayden - the way to avoid the flash problem is to take the photo at an angle to the glass, not straight-on.

Make sure you keep the eggs very clean - the mother usually guards and cleans them. Wash themin clean, de-chlorinated water daily to prevent fungus.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
