Hi, I'm new here :) I only just bought my Axel for 2 days. I got persuaded to buy a big filter with a build in spray bar that makes a lot of noise. Just wondering if it will make too much water flow or not.

If i turn it towards the glass, will it produce not enough oxgen for Axel? Because I only have the filter to produce oxgen now. no air stone or water pump

Any tips? should I use a sponge to block the filter? But i'm afraid that Axel will run out of oxgen as it has been swimming to the top and breath quite constantly (around twice every 5 minuets)

Thank you guys ;)

Filters don't produce oxygen. They just facilitate gaseous exchange by increasing the surface area of your water and breaking the surface tension.

Axolotls swim to the surface to 'gulp' air. This is normal, as they use their lungs to augment their gills.

To minimize noise and water movement from your filter, you should have the water as close to the filter output as possible (rather than far below so the water 'falls' onto the surface), and point the spray bar at the glass. If you see movement of plants/decorations/axolotls/gills in the tank, your water flow is probably too high.
