isnt he just the cutest!! have you had any problems with the gravel- him eating it i mean? in the first pic it looks like hes guarding his house/plant pot lol

He's been eating the gravel sometimes but he spits it out very quickly!

I now that we must change the gravel to sand instead. But he's been feeling quite alright anyways!I just wonder how old he is because they didn't know where I bought him?He is about 19-20 cm long!

Ok,but I'm not to worried because axies can get very old.So we hope that we can have him for many years.

here is another pic of Axel,it looks like he's sitting down like a trained dog waiting for food

Good choice of name. Our axolotl is also called Axle (but spelt differently, as you can see).

Yes I think so too.Axle is maybe the same name but brittish. But I'm not sure if he's a she because it so difficult to see yet.If he is a she we might name him Axelina!

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
