Just wondering what everyone feeds to their fire salamanders (or other terrestrials) as I am always looking for variety. Currently mine enjoy crickets, an occasional roach, small red earthworms, other worms, and nightcrawlers mostly, with the occasional other bug. Do they ever eat sowbugs/pillbugs? What about slugs? Just looking for some suggestions! Thanks.

there was some discussion http://www.caudata.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41473 on feeding behavior, but looks like your salamander will accept anything so slugs and pill/sowbugs should be fine. in my tanks i have a large pill/sowbug population that are readily eaten. like to note i haven't see any real digestion problems, i once found some exoskeletion from a full grown pillbug in some feces, but for the most part the pillbugs i culture don't get that big and i collect few that size either. i feed slugs too, i find three types brown, grey, and orange. all are accepted, but the orange ones secrete some icky mucus. i also collect 2 types of small millipedes, not sure if they're eaten but they do a good job of eating poo
