i was told my Salamander was an Axolotl and have done lots of research on how to keep him happy, and have just learned he is not, but is a tiger salamander larvae.

SOO what do i need to know thats different in caring for Tigers Vs Axies?
esp water temp and water depth. does he need more land or can he stay in the water?
when he morphs to a Tiger, will he loose his gill rakers?

any and all advise is welcome on what do do now.

thats him in my Avatar. i was told he was about 3mo old.

thanks.

Thanks for that link, it was very informative.
Sounds like there is no way to know which kind of salamander or if
he'll be neotenic ( which is my hope).
His water is 22 deg celcius right now so if he's a tiger, that's just right
and if he's an Axie it's a tad warm.
I'm sure I'll be back with more questions. Thank you for your patience.
