Here is a picture of one of my Triturus Cristatus! Is he really a triturus cristatus? I have other couple of triturus, but they are not cristatus...I will take pictures for you to help me in the identification! This one in the picture has borned here in Brasil, but the other two came from USA already adults, so I dont know what they are for sure! The female look like a chinese dragon, with a long body, very diferent from the others!

Nice little mohawk starting. I like Triturus. They've got a lot of really nice subtle coloration, and fiesty personalities.

Do you know what kind of triturus is this???
 
Looks like karelinii to me. A mohawk... A line of hair down the middle of the head, usually dyed funny colors, that stands straight up. Their crests remind me of mohawks.
 
karelinii... nice! I have another species here, a kind of long triturus, a triturus with chinese dragon body... ( Here in Brasil we call this hair "Moicano")

    Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
