Amazing photos. I think some of these should be used on the axolotl.org site, photographer permitting of course.

Also, it looks like you're using a mesh bath sponge for your mama to lay on. Does it work well for you? I know some people on here use mops for spawning, but I haven't seen this. It looks like a great idea, and easily removed.

I told the members in my forum to use a mesh bath sponge about two years ago and it works good!
A mesh bath sponge could let the eggs breath of oxygen to a uniform and axolotl mama could easily on its hind legs clamp.
Fix a suction cup or a stone to make sure the mesh bath sponge could stay in the bottom of the tank.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
