Haha! finally! Here's new pictures of Olive and with her new boyfriend Oliver! They are doing well with each other, although olive seems doesn't interested in Oliver at all when he try to catch her attention. I hope they will get along very well at the coming future!

thats a really, really nice tank setup and i love your axis pretty gills when you got him/her were its gills already like that?

Very nice looking Oliver, and a definite male by the looks of things! Your tank's looking really nice too!
 
Thanks! Olive's gills are like this for a very long time, it's kind of short I remember when i first bought her from shop.
Oliver's gills only turns so furry today, may be there's something to do with the oxygen thing, since I put the spray bar down under the water, so his gills grows bigger now to get more oxygen, but i think it may not be a good thing, so I already set the bar up above the water surface now!
At the same time, don't you think oliver's stressful from his gills? Becoz it's kind of turning forward, he still eat a lot everyday though.
 
Maybe the gills are just heavy from the gill filaments. Just looking at your temperature are you able to cool the tank so its below 20deg, it may help. (if you have any desklamps/lights shining over tank, turn it off as that can also warm tankwater)
 
At daytime, I use a fan to blow the water, so it normally remains 22 to 23c, but I use air-condition at night, so the temp will down to around 18c. I have lamp but I never use it if I havn't the AC on. It's getting cool here now, so i hope it will be much better soon!

You are right, may be it's due to the weight of their gills!

Thanks! Shaun Dorward, the tank's selling quite cheap nowadays in hong kong, the only problem and one of the big problem is that we don't have much space here! LOL!

Your axolotls have a very attractive house. Good job on that! Nice job on photographing. What lense are you using, or just digital?

I am loving the green axolotl toy you have on the top.

You have very attractive axolotls. Olive and Oliver are really cute. Olive looks like he is even smiling in the pictures.

I got two axoltols today that look kinda like Olive-(one is more black) I have to think of names.
 
Hi AnnMarie, it's only a digital camera, casio 3.2 mega pixels, the actual picture isn't good at all, but I make it brighter before put it in the forum.
The green toy on top of that's a mudpuppy, it's produced by Safari, they have no store here in HK, but I bought it with another 2 salamander toys from ebay!

I can't wait to see the cool pictures from you of your new axies!!! You may name the black one as "Noir"?
 
black one is name "black axolotl the bakunawa" I give my pets long crazy names. the pink axolotl is named "pink axolotl the diwata". We made these axolotls Filipino. My new axolotls are Polish and Italian. Giacomo and Jadwiga. First time i ever gave pet a people name.

Nior is used alot at names. Noir the French axolotl. Great suggestion. When i get a melanistic axolotl maybe his first name will be Noir, since i named some of my axoltols after colours.
 
Oliver is just as beautiful as olive! they make a cute couple!
 
ha! Here's some updated photos of my couple!
They are floating near the water surface all the time, to wait for my dropping pellets these days, Olive even bite out of the water!!!

you always have great axolotl photos! You also have some very cute and fat axolotl.

When Emily gets better, is she going to live with Olive and Oliver, or live alone?
