Just thought i'd post some pictures of Puckles being adorable in his bowl, since I finally have a nice camera and not just my phone!

omg that is too cute! He looks like "The most interesting axolotl in the world" just chillin.

Have you got a plan for replacing the pebbles and the repti-sand?

Not currently. I am incredibly broke right now as is my boyfriend. If we take everything out then we'll have to pay to fill up water jugs for filtered clean water.
Whenever we have time, I will at least remove the rocks. And tell me please, why is repti sand bad? It doesnt have any calcium in it, i checked that before we even bought it.

Riverbed sand is not the same as Repti-Sand, which is calcium based, and will alter pH.

yes well i have the riverbed sand. on my other post i thought it was called repti-sand. so that was my mistake. like i said before, i checked to make sure it wasnt calcium based or anything and if it was suitable for axolotls. my local pet store told me it would be fine. the only problem was it took FOREVER to settle.
so we will be removing the rocks sometime this week.

Riverbed sand is perfectly fine, just keep it stirred up from time to time, because it gets the black pockets fairly quickly. The axies seem to love it, it's incredibly soft and it has no additives at all. I use it in both my tanks.
