Odd habits of mole sal

I have a young (<1yr) spotted salamander and he does a very odd thing. After each meal he bathes forba long period of time. Does anyone else's salamanders do odd behaviours?

It may be that it helps him digest his meals.
I have a frog that either burrows down into the dirt or bathes in warm water after a big meal.
